Buckeye Children's Book Award - Ohio kids vote for the best books of the year.

Newbery Medal
 - Since 1922, this award has been given to books for children of distinguished quality.


Caldecott Medal - Since 1938, this award has been given to the artist/illustrator of the most distinguished picture book.


Geisel Award - A new award for books for beginning readers.


Sibert Medal - A relatively new award for informational (nonfiction) books for children.

Coretta Scott King Award - Awarded to an African American illustrator and author of children’s books that promote, educate, and enhance the American Dream of a multicultural society.

Belpre Medal - An Award for the Latino/a author and illustrator whose work highlights the Latino experience.
