The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library is transitioning to a new classification system. We hope that this classification of the music collection will offer a better browsing and borrowing experience for our customers.
New Classification System
On the new classification labels:

The genre will be listed first (i.e. Opera, Jazz, Country)
-
The artist's name will be listed second
-
The title of the work will be listed third
Music selections that are just for children will have a J (for juvenile) along with the genre.

The Alpha-Numeric System for Classification of Recordings (ANSCR) was previously used to organize the library's collection of music. It will remain in place until we fully integrate the new classification system.
The ANSCR is composed of categories into which all sound recordings are organized.
