Founded in 1919, the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown is the first structure built specifically to house a collection of American art.
Dr. Louis A. Zona has been Executive Director of the Butler since 1981. He will give an illustrated presentation about some of the museum's historic and contemporary holdings and highlights from the Butler's collection.
A retired professor of Art History at Youngstown State University, Dr. Zona is the author of numerous articles on art and art history in exhibition publications, catalogues, and art magazines.
